Come and check a great RPG for os x, available 100% FREE to download worldwide. Dungeon Siege 3 Mac OS X is a game published by Square Enix, a giant in the gaming industry. This is the third title in the Dungeon Siege series and the action takes place in the same world as the previous game, the kingdom of Ehb. This is a medieval-inspired world, destroyed and rebuilt a few times during the previous games. If you want a classic RPG with very nice graphic effects and strong gameplay, download now Dungeon Siege 3 on Mac OS. It's one of the best options!

The action from Dungeon Siege 3 takes place 150 after the events from the first game. One of the main changes that were made to these new titles is that you can get just one companion. It can be a computer-controlled one or a friend using the multiplayer features. You can choose from 4 different characters. This choice will slightly have an impact on your gameplay. Dungeon Siege 3 Mac OS was converted from the PC version, so all the features are working perfectly. The game is fully activated and all you need to do is to download it and run the .dmg file.

Other games

Needs info on original design of Dungeon Keeper (screenshots have a typical dungeon and skeleton), and cancelled Dungeon Keeper 3.

Dungeon Keeper is actually based on the Syndicate Wars engine, which in turn is based on the Magic Carpet engine. Should we consider the engine to be the Magic Carpet engine or the Syndicate Wars engine? I would leave it as Magic Carpet engine based on an interview with Molyneux search for Magic Carpet). However, if we do this then we also have to consider that Populous: The Beginning is based on the Magic Carpet engine which also seems to be the case in several articles on the web [1] (search for Magic Carpet). --analoguedragon 15:46, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

link to avatar is pointless (leads to ultima avatar section, i will remove)

Um, this quote about DK3: 'Bullfrog discontinued this idea, as it was above land so therefore no longer 'Dungeon' keeper.'.. I find it hard to believe that they began to produce a game, realised that it wasn't accurately described by its title, and as a result, stopped producing it. Anybody able to provide a more accurate description of events? --Justdig 21:01, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

EA pulled it when they started the process of dismantling Bullfrog. But I'm pretty sure it's one of those things that is undocumented and can't be proven, it was just widely discussed at the time and has entered unwritten knowledge. I'm going to edit the article so that it doesn't immediately disagree with itself after stating something. --Harmonica 01:06, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Overlord = DK3? Mebbe?

Nope, only inspired by DK --TheRaven 19:59, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

DK2

Why does the wiki link for Dungeon Keeper 2 redirect back to the Dungeon Keeper article? They're separate games, even if they are part of a series. That's like having the wiki link for Star Trek II link back to the article for Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Sure, they're part of a series, but they're still different things.
It's because someone set up Dungeon Keeper 2 to redirect to Dungeon Keeper because of no one having made an article for DK2 yet. Then, someone made the mention of DK2 a wikilink (is that the term?), which ends up causing a loop. It happens often. Solution? Write the article for the thing in question and remove it's redirect quality. MardukZero 06:00, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Well, I begun new article about DK2, but I need help. --Winterheart 14:52, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
Incredible that such a game had no article until this year!! -- ARC Gritt 13:33, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I have contacted EA (parent company of Bullfrog) by phone and by letter and all I got was a reference to a release schedule for a few months ahead, which obviously did not contain the title, and the line about 'Althought the Dungeon Kepper series is an important franchise for there are no plans at this time to commence redevelopment'. I don't see why it has to go overground, look what happens to the James Bond films, they are in the process of being ultimately digitised once again, to within an inch of their lives. Bullfrog could just release the game now with new graphics, possibly fit for 3D monitors and cross platform.

DK3

Would it be a good idea to have some links to petitions that are currently running regarding putting DK3 into development? Also, who actually owns the rights for this? The article indicates people are hopeful Lionhead Studios would start development, but surely it is EA who actually owns the rights as they took over Bullfrog.Matty gibbon 15:15, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

There's a fanmade sequel still in prodution that i've been trying to get on wiki but it keeps removeing it, it's called Dungeon Keeper War For The Overworld could someone please put it on. 19:48 28 September 2009

Wikipedia isn't the place to advertise a 'fanmade sequel'. --- Barek(talk • contribs) - 18:57, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

But There is a fanmade remake of Head Over Heels (video game) that is mentioned in Wikipedia, check it out yourself

The argument that 'other stuff exists' is generally a weak argument, particularly when attempting to push advertising into an article. --- Barek(talk • contribs) - 19:41, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

I don't know why, but it just seems some people hate dungeon keeper in this article and don't wish to see the article to grow in any other way than they see fit. How can a fan made sequel not be mentioned, lots of other articles do it with video games, I don't see someone constantly removing that and saying stuff like 'Wikipedia is not for fan games'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.200.13.254 (talk) 23:55, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't matter, I won the arguement, it's mentioned on the DK3 page, so you lose and the noob wins, nyah 77.103.117.187 (talk) 20:52, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Spells

I'm new to the idea of wikipedia..would a list of spells and their uses/effects be appropriate in this article? and also possibly a mention of the absolute uselessness of the instruction book? (at least a third of the information given in it is incorrect).

Throw it out to consensus, add it and see what happens. The instruction book bit is probably extrenuous though :) Mallocks 17:05, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a directory, and also see WP:EL on policy regarding external links. Fansites and resources should not be indiscriminately added to external links. --Scottie_theNerd 20:21, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

I am removing these links, with respective reasons:

  • Error in Webarchive template: Empty url. - The archive is not navigable. It only has the front page of the original site, and attempting to interact with it takes you to the current domain squatter site. It offers no useful information.
  • Dungeon Keeper Network - (v3 under development) is a french community witch offer the largest choices of download, maps & news related to DK.
  • Keeper Klan, unofficial Dungeon Keeper forum - Fansite forums are on the list of things that normally should not be linked, per policy. Any useful information that the site offers should instead be included in the article, preferably with a more reliable source.

Strongest creature

The Avatar is the strongest creature and can only be obtained twice on the last level. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rusty-armour (talk • contribs) 07:12, 23 March 2007 (UTC).

obtained? You can't convert the avatar to your cause, thats not possible. You can only torture him to death. However, if you modify the creature pool of the levels (wich is pretty easy) you can have him come to your dungeon, and fighting for you. He doesn't need anything to come, but well a sleeping place, a chicken farm, a training room and some Treasure to pay him would be needet if you wanna keep him --88.134.94.99 (talk) 21:08, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
That's not right. You CAN convert the Avatar, quite easily aside from the long amount of time he takes to convert. To convert any creature, you must keep healing it while it is being tortured, not allowing it to die. I do this every single time I play the Skybird Trill level. Doing so counts as having killed him, and his second incarnation will spawn shortly thereafter. You can then use his converted first incarnation to imprison his second one and convert it as well, which will then cause you to win the level. --QuasarTE (talk) 23:50, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Trivia/Easter Egg

In the binary (.exe) of the game you can see a hidden message from Jonty Barnes, one of the designers and programmers of Dungeon Keeper. The message can be seen as trivia, but it also says something about the process of developing the game. I don't know if it belongs in the main article, but it is valuable for the fans. The message is as follows:

Confusing

Is this article about Dungeon Keeper or Dungeon Keeper Mobile? It seems to switch subjects completely toward the end; the 'crtical reception' heading is in reference strictly to Dungeon Keeper Mobile, while this topic is never mentioned for the actual article subject. 71.254.189.49 (talk) 17:24, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

I agree it is confusing. There should be feedback for the original game which I seem to remember was very favorable. Perhaps there should be two reception sections or even a new article just for DK mobile which probably has different mechanics from the original. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 16:44, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Now also available for Mac OS X

While the original game was for PCs only, the recentl release on gog.com also runs on OS X. I am not sure where to add this information, though. Tempel (talk) 20:49, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

All the versions from gog (as of now - they tend to do updates) are really DOS version wrapped with DOSBox. It needs to be clear that the new GOG platforms are supported with emulation.

'Dungeon Keeper, do you know what I had to do'

In an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun Peter Molyneux announced an interesting end to the development of DK:

'Dungeon Keeper, do you know what I had to do– Maybe this will give you an insight. Even though I was working at Electronic Arts, I paid to finish Dungeon Keeper at Electronic Arts, because they wanted to force me to finish the product a year early. I said no, take the team to my house, the whole team went to my house and we worked slavishly hard on the game and finished it. That's, you know–'

Since that's pretty interesting turn of development, countered obviously by the questionably reliability of Peter's word, I wondered if any of the better editors could think of a place for this in the article?

Please don't anyone rewrite the 'Comments' section into irrelevance with respect to what made the game innovative

Mac Os Download

While I agree that it may not convey with clarity and concision the design and gameplay elements that make Dungeon Keeper a very innovative experience in the RTS genre, it just happens to convey the innovation of the game without clarity or concision for someone willing to read through the examples of gameplay that are presented in that section.

I may even be willing to make the modifications myself, if someone could make some comments on what would be contentious with regards to the video game guidelines in the Comments section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.125.229.94 (talk) 03:49, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
